Re: re:- worrying drop

Dr Fang,
My understanding is that the majority shareholders would have to make a formal take-over bid for the company to take it private. Otherwise they could buy in the open market - but again, they would be restricted by regulations over 'connected' parties - in other words, that cannot just get together and decide to buy anyone out at a derisory price. Finally - even if they did make an offer of some kind, they cannot buy share compulsorily until they hold something like 95% of issued shares.
There are plenty more shares on Aim and the Main Market that have suffered just as badly, so I believe your fears are unfounded

Correction to my previous post, SCEL have proposed the cancellation of their admission to AIM, rather than a management buyout.
Re: re:- worrying drop

Thanks scientificapproach, I'm interested in your suggestion that there could be a management buyout as this has just happened at SCEL (Sceptre Leisure) who, interestingly, are in the amusement machine market. The Directors have become disillusioned with AIM and the undervaluation of the company. In the case of PHTM, where the Directors are majority shareholders, what is to stop them making a derisory offer for our shares and voting for the buyout? The sp of SCEL plummeted when the RNS was released. By Professor Fang

re:- worrying drop

The company reassured on 9th March re 2012 results. Any change would have to have been reported by now.

Maybe the outlook for 2013 is the problem. Hardman cited the weak euro as possible reduction in 2013 profits but lower depreciation costs should counteract this fairly comfortably.
Any further fall in SP could result in a predator stepping in for the ample cash resources or a management buyout by Directors and former directors who own a massive proportion of the shares. Their paper losses in the last few months must be horrendous..
In my opinion this share is extremely cheap on the current available news.
A positive rns is needed soon to calm our nerves . News that the divi will be held or increased would help sentiment.. Good Luck.

dallo,

I got shares in PHTM but took out a short too as I noted the slow and continual decline in the sp. Have no idea why it has fallen so much given they have cash and are paying dividends.

I can only guess that they are affected by the drop in the Euro and turmoil in the EU.

Sorry not to be of more help.

Some persistent selling over last week which is very worrying.
SP down c20 % over past 2 months.
I hope no bad news on the way as SP is at multi- year lows.
Should the Company issue a RNS to inform the market of any relevant news or reassure on trading ?
Market Cap at £ 125m with over £ 50m in cash .
Anyone any views/
