Re: Re:

As you can see by today's big jump following the William Hill annnouncement that the online JV profits grew well in Q1, the market is really split, with the bulls saying that its a great growth story that keeps on increasing profits, and the bears worried about Sagi's meddling and dodgy deals.

I just don't see the logic of having to take out loans to pay Sagi early, and only securing a 5% discount. Surely they must be paying some interest on the loans - 3 or 4%? Also the announcement was very vague about the social media acquisitions - which normally some business case for the acquisition is laid out, like revenues of the company to be acquired, user base, etc. By Boony

Yep, they don't like Sagi selling to himself as per boony's post.

nev1jol / boony,

still not sure why the sp fell so much - if this aquisition was made a while ago but the payment for it has been bought forward (and a discount included) why the drop? Is it solely because the city doesn't like Sagi owning the company he is also selling to? Or is it because the payment is being made via a loan rather than any cash reserves?

Unfortunately I lost quite a bit today on this - would have been worse but my stop-losses!

Re: Wow! What a drop!

Read carefully. Not a purchase. Just bringing forward payment milestones. It stinks of poor corporate governance - as the money is essentially going to Teddy Sagi. He's treating Playtech like his personal bank account. Note the "social media" acquisitions announced today - Teddy's also involved, and going to financially benefit from the acquisitions.

Its the reason why Playtech trades at such low valuations even though its a good growth stock with potential. Without the Teddy Sagi cloud, it could easily be at forward P/Es of 15-20.

Did I miss something here? Does anyone know why the SP dropped so much after the purchase of PTTS?

Is it because the purchase is from Sagi?
