Revised Gas Production Figures-Sorry

Sorry my assumption hastily reading that news story was wrong. Having finally had time to sit down and look at it again - it is comparing the two month period jan+feb 2012 with jan+feb 2011. Not as in previous releases comparing one month with a preceding month.
I thought Regal had doubled production - they haven't - yet.

In jan+feb 2011 RPT was shutdown so production would have been zero - so the report's comparison of +100% was not helpful they should have put N/A

so subtracting jan 2012 total gas 7,406,000
from their jan+feb 2012 total gas 14,79,000
gives the feb 2012 total gas of 6,973,000 cubic metres
divided by 29 days in feb gives 240,346 cubic metres gas per day

using conversion of 100,000 cubic metres gas = 624 boe
means 240,346 cubic metres gas = 1,500 boe per day

assuming continuing production of 1 cubic metre condensate per 4,515 cubic metres gas
then 240,346 cubic metres gas gives 53 cubic metres condensate per day

using 1 cubic metre condensate = 6.295 bbls condensate
then 53 cubic metre condensate = approx. 335 boe per day

adding the gas and condensate gives a total of 1,835 boe per day for feb 2012

my revised approx. figures per day (? = assuming condensate % the same)

month ----- cubic metres gas ---- cubic metre condensate ---- boe
dec 2011 ---- 231,634 ---- 49 ---- 1,753
jan 2012 ---- 239,032 ---- 53? ---- 1,825
feb 2012 ---- 240,345 ---- 53? ---- 1,835

Oil falls overnight as euro zone jitters weigh; TXO, Petro Matad, Enegi Oil, Forum Energy all gain
http://bit.ly/uelFlS

Wednesday, December 07, 2011 by Proactive Investors
Overnight oil prices were in decline, pressured by renewed concerns about the European debt crisis following a series of warnings from a major credit rating agency.

Standard & Poor’s today placed the credit rating of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) under review for a possible downgrade less than a day after warning 15 euro zone countries that they could see their ratings cut if no action to reform EU fiscal regulations is taken at Friday’s summit.

The summit will focus on joint proposals of changes to the EU treaty from France and Germany, which would allow penalising countries that let its budget deficit spiral out of control and launching a permanent bailout fund.

The moves by S&P again pushed up yields on euro zone bonds and hit the euro, while boosting the safe-haven US dollar.

The surge in the US dollar put more pressure on the dollar-denominated crude by making it more expensive for investors of other currencies, denting demand.

Futures for crude oil received some support from expectations of a ban on Iranian oil imports after Energy Commissioner of the EU Guenther Oettinger said there was consensus in Europe that such a ban should be implemented.

However, Oettinger added that Europe would need to act in concert with the US and Russia.

Earlier this week, the US asked South Korea to stop buying crude oil from Iran.

Iran, which the latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said may be developing a nuclear weapon, is the currently the world’s fifth largest exporter of oil and holds the third largest oil reserves.

Iran, which claims its nuclear programme is peaceful, yesterday warned that an oil embargo would drive oil prices to US$250 per barrel.

US light, sweet crude for January delivery, currently the most actively traded contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), fell 50 cents to US$100.49/barrel in morning trade in New York.

January Brent crude fell 2 cents to US$109.78/barrel on the ICE Exchange this afternoon.

London’s top risers in the oil and gas sector were:

TXO (LON:TXO), up 11 percent at 0.749 pence at midday

Petro Matad (LON:MATD), up 7.5 percent at 21.25 pence

Enegi Oil (LON:ENEG), up 6.5 percent at 9.85 pence

Forum Energy (LON:FPM), up 4.5 percent at 60 pence
Interfax reported that Regal Petroleum Plc, a British company with oil and gas assets in Ukraine increased average daily hydrocarbon output by 7.3% to 1,751 boe in comparison with October 2011.

The company earlier said in a statement on the London Stock Exchange that its gas production had reached 228,799 cubic meters a day and gas condensate 51 cubic meters of day.

At the start of August, Regal restarted production operations at the Mekhedivsko-Golotovshchinskoye and Sviridovskoye gas condensate fields in Ukraine. The Kyiv District Administrative Court earlier lifted the Ukrainian Natural Resources Ministry ban on development at Regal fields and also upended court proceedings that had been ongoing since March 2010.
