Re: speculate to accumulate !

Frogboy

""Jack, there is an element of chance here as it depends on what happens with Greece. However if you are happy to hang in there regardless this could be a great money making opportunity. Personally I dont think Greece will exit the Euro, not this year anyway ""

Thanks for that.
I think Greece will drop out as it's been on the cards for a long time and what decent option is there really for the people?
I'll certainly hang on regardless at least until the impending update (expected June) as that's what I bought in for, maybe more concerned with the potential problems in SHG's bit of Africa than in the EU, and SHG having prepared extra protective facilities for the product suggests the prospects may be as good or better than predicted.
Gold has also been predicted by some to surge again as the global monetary system continues to slide to rock bottom.
Being pretty new to sharedealing, one thing that seems obvious to me is that market manipulation (I keep going on about!) is the norm rather than the exception, and that's a decent investors real problem; also disaster (including a collapsing Eurozone) seems to feed the market frenzy (initiated by sudden rapid SP drop with no other rhyme or reason) rather than good news, and PIs have to read between the lines to benefit - perhaps recogising it as best time to buy (if the company fundamentals are right) rather than obey the manipulators and sell.

Very best of luck. By JackHep

Seems like an excellent deal now; and I suspect the downward pressure on the SP coincident with so many 25,000 (plus 50,000 and 75,000) recurrent SELLs this past few days without obvious rhyme or reason, has more to do with manipulation than informed PI dealing so might bode exceptionally well for the June news releases.
Rajoy warns Spain faces market exile

By Mary Watkins in London and Miles Johnson in Madrid

Spain’s prime minister warned his country risked being shut out of the financial markets unless it was allowed to press ahead with its package of deficit cuts, as yields on the country’s debt jumped.

Speaking in parliament on Wednesday, Mariano Rajoy said: “We must reduce the public deficit because there is a serious risk that we will not be able to borrow, or borrow at astronomical prices ... All these measures are to get out of the hole we find ourselves in.”

Yields on Spanish 10-year bonds touched 6.5 per cent for the first time since November, taking them closer to levels that prompted bailouts for Greece, Portugal and Ireland. Italy’s comparable benchmark bonds were trading at 5.94 per cent.

News that Greece had failed to form a unity government and so would have to hold fresh elections in June also continued to fuel market worries of Greek exit from the euro, triggering wider problems in other parts of the eurozone.

With investors shunning so-called peripheral eurozone countries, German 10-year Bunds continued to trade around record lows of 1.45 per cent. Spreads on Spanish 10-year bonds over Bunds hit another euro-era high, climbing above 500 basis points.

Spain’s Ibex 35 index, which is hovering around nine-year lows, was trading down 2 per cent in early morning trade.

Meanwhile, Bankia, the Spanish lender that was part-nationalised last week, tumbled 10 per cent on Wednesday. The bank, formed from a merger of seven savings banks, confirmed that the Bank of Spain had ordered it to present a revised survival plan following the state rescue.

Investors remain focused on problems in Spain’s banking system and the risk of contagion should Greece exit the euro.

Speaking on Tuesday, the leaders of Germany and France, Angela Merkel and François Hollande, said Greece should remain in the euro as they promised to work on measures to revive growth.

Corrado Passera, Italian development minister, said in a television interview on Wednesday, that should Greece abandon the euro countries with high debt and a low deficit, such as Italy, would be the first to be affected.

Elsewhere, France successfully sold €8bn of shorter-dated government bonds on Wednesday morning. It plans to sell up to €1.2bn of inflation-linked bonds later in the day.

Meanwhile, Germany sold €4.11bn of 10-year debt on Wednesday at an average yield of 1.47 per cent, below the level it drew in April. By archie23

i think it's pretty positive. greater depth= greater cost but usefully they are taking plenty out at shallower depths to mitigate this. the grades and their widths should hopefully give a decent overall average.

The recent clobbering across the sector, scope for a chunky resource upgrade and move to production before the end of the summer has put this firmly on my radar. I had to take my cash out for another punt a couple of weeks ago. So far it's been the right thing to do. By Chickenlicken1
