Planning’s already underway for the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles and now thanks to Count On Us, a traffic model has been created to monitor transports travelling to and from the event.

Count On Us was initially approached by consultants SIAS on behalf of the 2014 host partnership team of Transport Scotland, Perth and Kinross Council and Event Scotland 2014 in preparation for the event.

Count On Us was commissioned to monitor the entire traffic infrastructure that had been put in place by European Tour Golf, Ryder Cup Ltd and Newport CC for the 2010 event in Wales.

SIAS set the parameters for data collection including monitoring amount of parking required, number of buses used to transport people to and from Park & Ride locations, vehicle and passenger queue detection and peaks and falls in traffic compared with non event days.

Several applications were chosen by Count On Us to deliver a total solution across the four Park & Ride sites including bus boarding and alighting counts, passenger delay times, parking queues and delays and automatic traffic counts.

The Count On Us team were involved throughout the event planning process and this paid off when torrential rain on the first day of the event caused a complete change to schedules. The count team responded immediately to requests from SIAS for new survey hours to be covered and redeployed their teams at all sites to ensure SIAS got the data they needed.

With a thorough insight into the type of work which is required over the next 4 years, we’re confident Ryder Cup organisers are well equipped to ensure smooth operations.
Considering the scope and HUGE potential here for many times multi bagging, I am surprised, no I am Amazed that the people who leverage themselves to the tune of many tens of thousands of pounds on Oil plays and speculation dont appear to have the sense to invst a few thousand in a previous dividend paying growth company where the company generates real revenue and provides real growth and expansion..

They pretend to know about seismics and oil formations, one would expect its not that difficult therefore to read up and understaqnd the data collection markets...

Today has been a rather disapointing day with CHAR and PMK, but it bothers me little as I KNOW that when SKHG gets the attention it so deserves it will make losses sustained elsewhere pale into insignificance.

I guess when the stock is not traded it also makes it immune to the silly antics of the disneyland fiasco that is eurozone.

With so much serial disappointment around lately, I can’t help but wonder when people will see the real value being offered here.

Expanding, winning contracts, acquisitions, funded, it’s all good, vs the failures that are more common place these days in the wider markets, MHG, PMK, CHAR, GKP etc etc...

All what one would imagine and perceive and are good companies, but even just a few looking around and deciding on SKHG would propel the sp to a new level, and one perhaps that would be more aligned to its actual worth.

Re: SCOTLAND, (Significant Contract Win)

Transport Scotland has awarded a three-year traffic data collection contract, believed to be worth a six-figure sum, to Yorkshire company Sky High.

Under the framework agreement, Tadcaster-based Sky High will provide the Scottish government agency with data to support its modelling for future transport policy and project appraisal.

Finance director Alex Johnson said the firm, which also has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, would carry out a wide range of services, including monitoring traffic flows and conducting roadside surveys. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Its tender was submitted in partnership with international consultancy IBI Group, and it expects 80 per cent of the services will be delivered by Count On Us, the firm’s traffic survey division. By Ctesippus
