If there is anyone monitoring these boards, I would be very interested in another opinion.

The price has dropped well below 2.5EPS and the management have indicated trading is looking robust. With the constuction of the new factory next autumn, ramp up in production and additional tax breaks the price at 23p is an absolute given is it not????

Does anyone out there have a good understanding of privatization and whether a risk/opportunity exists here. It makes me a little nervous having a 60% shareholder without full understanding of the potential reward or outcome should such a move be made. By Murphys_Law

Thanks for the tip Davy but I am trying not to buy any more shares, it's very addictive but so far all I have done is lost money! Maybe once I actually see some profit I will look at CFC, I recall reading about them when I did my initial research. cheers
If you like Sorbic, have you looked at China Food Company CFC? They are linked through investors and managements, and have similar growth plans. By davydoo

Re: Query

Thanks Davy, that makes sense. Why choose Sorbic? I stumbled across them somehow - just researching companies randomly to get a feel for the whole thing and quite liked what I read about mongolia etc, also I really liked how transparent they were in their annual report about their risks. Just got a good feeling for some reason - however they've since lost over 10 per cent of their value so maybe I was wrong! It's fun though eh... By tpkiwi

Re: Query

This happens all the time on illiquid shares. The mid price quoted reflects the buys and sells in the market, so if there's only sells the price can come down sharply, and vice versa. There were also sales on Plus Markets which is worth checking sometimes www.plusmarketsgroup,com

Also with this company, 94% of the shares are held by the top 3 shareholders, so theres not a lot stock around.

Out of interest, if youre 'new to all this' what made you chose Sorbic for one of your first purchases? By davydoo

Query

hi I am new to all this sharedealing business and I bought some SORB shares a few weeks ago. Today the sp plunged by 10 per cent even though there appears to have been only one trade today, a sell totalling £2,999. Why would the sp drop so much?
Sorry to be so dim, I am realising how much there is to learn!

Too much dilution?

Hi Guys,
Sounds like a great company. Just concerned about dilution really. They appear to be printing new shares faster than the Bank of England is printing money! Ha ha!

Any idea how many shares are in circulation? Also, do they still need to raise money for their exploits in Mongolia?

~24% return on equity, stable earnings and below book price all sounds good to me though.

Good luck everyone.

Re: Results

Results are for year to Sept '09.
They are compared to a nine month period to Sept '08.
Profits in 2nd half were 25% of profits in first half.
Huge increase in number of shares in issue.
They said they were now working at full capacity in the October trading statement, which bodes well for next year. Hopefully profit margin will return to 2008 levels.

Results

Well I realise that maybe I'm the only person who holds these..certainly the only holder who appears to visit here. For what it's worth I'm very happy with the results..given that they cover only a 9 month period. It's just a pity (for me) that this one is so deep under the radar. But then so was another of my 'punts'.. PYM..so maybe there's hope yet. By dizzyboy
