Finally the share price is making a sustained and consolidated rise - the question is how far can it rise? I think its possible we could get back to 2009 levels (ie £1+) in the next six months as it seems to have sorted out its problems, reduced the cost and be gaining new work. Not very good at communicating what it does but I suppose they are getting on with the work. Maybe also a takeover approach? By Mosert

Re: CEO anouncement and interim statement

It looks to me as if they are still expecting a take over - as far as I know the company is still contracting and all the best staff have left / been made redundant. I think Keith Evans is indicative of this - he is not a leader who will develop the business but merely a safe pair of hands who will keep it ticking over until a proper company decides to buy it. Its all down to bodies such as the BT pension fund who hold the bulk of the stock. I would have thought a takeover within a year. By Mosert

Well its good to see the great performance of Tribal being rewarded and that the PLC board costs have been slashed too now the group is half what it used to be. Not! Where are the non executives, the institutional shareholders and how have they let this fiasco continue? Restructuring costs at public sector outsourcing group, Tribal, has pushed the company into a loss in the first half of the year. But, with the Health and Government and resourcing division now sold, chairman John Ormerod said: "Tribal is now focused on developing its activities in the education, learning and training markets."
What remains is a smaller, but crucially profit-making business. Before restructuring costs, the group reported a profit before tax of £2.8m, down from £3.1m in the same period last year. Revenue is now split 60:40 between its services and technology divisions. The former provides schools inspection and teacher training and saw operating profits more than double to £1.8m, on a 15 per cent increase in sales, as margins improved mainly due to cost-cutting. The technology business, providing computer software to aid learning, reported a 5 per cent rise in revenue, but operating profit slipped from £5.1m to £4.4m, partly due to pressure on government funding for clients in the UK.
Investec Securities expects full-year adjusted pre-tax profits to rise from £6.8m to £7.6m, giving EPS of 7.6p (5.6p in 2010).
FairlyPriced
The Tribal that has emerged following the restructuring is radically different from its previous incarnation. With a new management team and the opportunity to further apply technology in education, this presents an opportunity. The company is also well-funded having secured a £30m revolving credit facility until 2015. One for the watchlist, but we remain cautious for now. Fairly priced. By SpikeyDT

Not sure one sale ever makes a valid market comparison and they have to demostrate that the underlying profits are still there but you have to believe the directors must have walked away from such low valuations.
Re: 20% increase in one day?

Surely they are still making the company look pretty for a sale?

Talking to a contact in the company recently they seem to be cutting costs (ie sacking people) and undertaking restructurings throughout the business which to me indicates that it is still being lined up for a sale.

The company also has no chief exec currently so its effectively being run by the bean counters without any leadership: surely just waiting for a takeover and the imposition of a chief exec by the new owners/ incorporation in to a wider group.

Lets hope they havent got get rid of too many good people or there wont be anything worth buying.

I would have thought a company offering 75p a share could take control quiet easily By Mosert
