Introduction to Structured Products

Structured Products offer investors the opportunity to purchase investments with exposure to a specified underlying asset class such as a basket of shares over a period which matches with their investment strategy. Structured Products have a preset formula for calculating risk and return. In other words, you know the potential risk and return from the outset of your investment.

  • The Transatlantic Step Down Autocall (TA10)

The aim of this Product is to provide a gross return equivalent to 10% per year, and return your capital in full at the end of the 6 year Investment Term, or earlier.

The Product is a 6 year investment which is linked to the performance of the largest companies from the uK (HsBc), europe (Total) and America (Apple). The aim of the Product is to generate a gross return equivalent to 10% per year, and return your initial investment at Maturity, if not before.

This Product is different to many investment products in that it can expire early after just one year of the Investment Term. If the Product expires early, it will pay the Gross Return, and return your initial investment in full. In order for this to happen, each of the three shares must close at or above a specific level (the Kick out Level) on a specific Valuation Date each year. This Kick out Level is reduced by 10% each year to increase the chance of an early payout.

  • The new UK Accelerated Tracker 5 (UKA5) is a 6 year investment product, which aims to provide an enhanced return at maturity based on 5 times the positive performance of the FTSE 100 Index. The maximum potential return is capped at 60% (gross).
This product is also designed to return your invested capital in full as long as the FTSE 100 has not fallen by more than 40% at Maturity. If it has, capital is at risk
The Product’s ability to pay any Gross Return and return your capital at Maturity is dependent on the ability of Societe Generale to satisfy its obligations as Issuer.

Risk Warning

Structured Products may not be suitable for you. It is important that you understand their nature and risk prior to investing. If you are at all unsure, please discuss them with a qualified advisor. The price and value of investments and any income paid fluctuates and you may get back less than you invested. Many structured products do not pay an income - please check the product details before investing if income is important to you. Remember that the favourable tax status of these products may change in the future and that how an investment performed in the past is not necessarily a guide to how it will perform in the future.
