Im sure you've read the Competent Persons Report posted on the DES website. For Liz you'll note the COS is 17%. I agree with this totally. These days successful hit rates are about 1 in 5 - 1 in 6. Obivously there are low risk and high risk areas, this is high risk. Even the top oil oil companies with all modern technology available have multi-well campaigns and turn up nothing commercial.

I read somewhere online a broker valuation, cant remember exactly which broker but i think it was Nomura or Evolution. They put 6.40-6.50ish GBP on a Liz Discovery and 4.30-4.40ish on a Beth Discovery, it aint a massive structure. I looked for the article again this morning but couldnt find it as i didnt have much time, will try lagain later.

Also if it is a discovery at least one possibly several appraisal wells will be required to accurately estimate reserves. They might not opt for appraisal wells on the first round of drilling. I think they might continue to test the plays they have then raise more cash through farm-ins for further appraisal. Although they might use one well for appraisal, obviously we are tight for cash.

Like i said on my first post there are other companies with similar upside potential with less risk in my opinion, but im in.

As for 1000%, we would be very very lucky, and it would be short lived. 2000%....dreaming.

Gulf Keystone concludes Settlement Agreement with BG on HBH Project

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd ("GKP, the Company") is pleased to announce that it has negotiated an agreement with BG North Sea Holdings Limited ("BG") that settles, on confidential terms, the claims and counterclaims between the parties in the previously announced arbitration.

The agreement provides for the immediate stay of the arbitration and the proposed transfer of the Company's interests in the Hassi Ba Hamou ("HBH") Permit for a net cash payment from BG of $9.9m to GKP. The agreement is subject to the conclusion of separate transfer documentation which will require the approval of Sonatrach and any necessary Algerian governmental authorities. Whilst the Company is confident that the necessary approvals will be forthcoming, there is no guarantee this will be the case.

Todd Kozel, Executive Chairman of Gulf Keystone, commented:

"We welcome the agreement with BG which is a significant step in the strategic refocusing of the Company's activities in Kurdistan. Following this transaction, we hope that further announcements will be made with respect to the orderly disposal of the Company's other interests in Algeria."

Torotrak RNS License Payment £3.75m

Additional Licence Payment : 18th March 2010

In the Interim Management Statement issued on 16 February 2010, Torotrak (LSE: TRK) said that it would provide an update in March regarding licence and option payments in relation to the Licence and Exclusivity Agreement ("the Agreement") signed on 16 March 2009 with Allison Transmissions, Inc ("Allison").

Accordingly, we are pleased to confirm that £3.75m has been received from Allison in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. This brings the total licence payments now paid under the Agreement to £8.44m. These initial payments have provided Allison with non-exclusive licence rights over Torotrak's full-toroidal traction drive technology in the medium-sized commercial vehicle market, together with options to secure global manufacturing and sales exclusivity in this sector (except for Torotrak's existing licensees in this field).

Following this payment, we remain on course to achieve our target to break even on a profit after tax basis for the financial year to 31 March 2010.

Under the Agreement, Allison has further options to purchase, at a future date, a non-exclusive licence for Torotrak's technology in relation to applications in large commercial vehicles and further options to secure worldwide exclusivity (except for Torotrak's existing licensees in this field) across the commercial vehicle market. Total additional fees payable to Torotrak could amount to a further £6.75 million to £17.37 million, payable over the next three years, depending upon when, or if at all (in which case no additional fees are payable), these rights are taken up by Allison.

Raymarine, a global leader in the supply of electronic products to the leisure marine market, today announces that it has reached agreement with its banking syndicate to extend the term of all of its banking facilities to 30 September 2010. The interest charges and financial covenants associated with these facilities are unchanged. However, Raymarine is still unable to comply with the financial covenants under these facilities and remains reliant on continuing covenant waivers from its banking syndicate.

Both the Raymarine Board and its banking syndicate remain committed to finding a solution to Raymarine's medium-term funding issues. As part of this process, as announced on 11 March 2010, Raymarine continues to progress discussions regarding a possible sale of Raymarine Holdings Limited in parallel with discussions which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the entire issued share capital of Raymarine at approximately 3.6 pence per share.

A further announcement will be made in due course.

Allawi or al-Maliki?
Apparently it is going to be a close run thing for the prime Minister between these two.

What difference to GKP does it make?.
My understanding is that Allawi is more pro-west than Maliki
Anyone with an appreciation of the likely political difference if any?

I speak not from inside knowledge
I know nobody on the BOD - but have met them on occasions
I am no 'techie'
I dont have relatives in the FI or Aberdeen
I have no crystal balll... but......

I have held Gealic/Des for nearly 20 years and have experienced how the BOD work.

They will have worked through all the possible permutations of the drilling, its results and next steps. They don't want to waste time and money

They would want the best possible result and published fully and clearly and will not be nagged at by panic struck inverstors. If you cant sleep - and I have over-invested - then you should not have invested in high risk DES

Its always been true that the oil is there nor not there. Even techies can only give a degrees of probability Having watched this process for some years, another week is neither here not there.

While working for the shareholders, as all companies do, they are not going to let the tail wag the dog.

All allong on this BB there have been moans, complaints and conspiracy theories - including buying vineyards and cornering the Hobnob market and appealing to the Stock exchange for incompetance, misusing the cash etc etc. It has become unbelievably paranoid at times.

DES have always been tight on information - cards close to chest etc. - but they have done a good job so far. I can’t see them messing up now with the winnning post is in sight.

They said 30 days I believe because it represented the earliest they could present a positive and informative RNS... including , it now seems getting samples to Aberdeen - not easy or quick option.

They/We have paid for the best information and advice possible so was 30 a number picked out of the hat or one to please you and me? It was based on precise measurments and drilling times - see the Addendum to E.Impact

I want them to present the best results clearly - I can only trust them to do it - I certainly can’t The endgame is here, I believe... I have lined up a motor racing green BMW - and a bike for the wife..!! I too am an Essex man! Just enjoy the next week ....

PS - however I won’t complain if I am wrong- you are welcome to call me all the names you like .....

Hi Clarence,
Sorry to others be discussing GKP on this BB.
I think GKP is an obvious takeover target because I believe Shaikan and Sheik Adi are too big for a company of their size to be able to develop.
In my opinion, they will try and fasttrack any drilling to prove up reserves so that any TO is at a realistic price and not at £1.50.
Once these next wells have been drilled much more will be known and if the fields do turn out to be as big, or bigger, than expected, I'm sure it won't be long before the Chinese and others are wanting a slice of the action.
The other possibility (and this could affect HOIL) is that the American majors may come into Kurdistan once everything has settled down after the elections (if that's ever possible in Iraq). Strangely, despite the persistent media and liberal agendas about the Iraq war being just for the oil, no-one seems to be commenting much on the fact that the big American majors have not won one single oil field contract in Iraq so far.
I just can't see them being happy with this and as the only reason they're not in Kurdistan already was that they would be prevented from winning any of the main Iraq contracts, what's to stop them now?
If, at some point, any of these companies decide to get into Kurdistan, I am certain that the first company they'll look at will be little ol' GKP.
