News Release
30 April 2012
Consort Medical plc
FDA approves Teva's QNASL™ with Bespak Dose Counter
Consort Medical plc (LSE: CSRT), today is pleased to announce that the FDA has approved the first product to use Bespak's proprietary Integrated Dose Counter (IDC).
The IDC is being used with Teva's QNASL™ Nasal Aerosol for the treatment of nasal symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) and perennial allergic rhinitis (PAR) in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older. The product is now available by prescription and is the first marketed nonaqueous or "dry" nasal aerosol in a product category that reports annual sales of $2.5 billion. QNASLTM is delivered as a once-daily, pressurized, HFA-propelled nonaqueous aerosol that is environmentally friendly and offers a built-in dose counter.
Bespak has been developing its IDC for a number of years in response to an important patient and compliance need to let patients know if their device contains sufficient drug and to indicate when they need to seek a further prescription. It provides patients with a reliable, easy to read indication of how many doses are left inside the canister in line with FDA guidance. This programme has been launched on schedule in 2012, and has previously been identified on the product development pipeline as IDC220.
Jon Glenn, Chief Executive of Consort Medical, said; "we are very pleased to announce that the FDA has approved the use of our IDC with Teva's QNASL™, making this our first commercially marketed Integrated Dose Counter. We are also delighted to support Teva in their launch of this important new treatment for a debilitating condition."

quiet board
very positive 10% move yesterday with no pre or post RNS there was 3-4% of the compnay traded a couple of weeks back and to me the pattern if indicative of a bid looming. re the fundamentals: despite a bit of a bump ride CSRT has delivered 10 years of solid growth it is a global leader in growth markets modest share dilution in 10 years (10%) and that was to fund what has proven to be a successful acquistion good CASH flow average levels of debt and well funded pension the dividend has been held during that time they are confident about the future so as an average company they are averagely rated i believe they are a global company with good track record in growing markets so therefore believe an interim target to be 610p over a 12 month period which is 7% growth plus 3% divi yld - modest enough but then thrown in for free is a bid possibility which i think would need a take out of 800p + and i think price and volume action in recent months increases the bid possibility All IMHO, DYOR + BoL CSRT is in my portfolio |

Consort Medical - Delivering record profits Click for report
http://www.edisoninvestmentresearch.co.uk/researchreports/Consort051211review.pdf Mon, Dec 5, 2011 at 11:35 AM Consort Medical is targeting double-digit profit growth in the medium term. It intends to achieve this via organic growth (new products, diversification and moving up the value chain) in its existing cash-generative business, and through exploiting selective M&A/investment opportunities. Its interim results showed evidence of delivery on its growth strategy, supported by a strong market position (particularly at Bespak), operational investment and pipeline expansion/progress. This strategy should ensure that Consort remains an attractive and defensive growth opportunity for investors. Consort Medical is an international medical devices company. It operates through two divisions: Bespak (inhalation and injection technologies) and King Systems (airway management products). You may have a point but hopefully the next 6 months will show some progress.

As I suspected - no real progress with King Systems or Bespak Injectables. Why spend good money on acquisitions if you cannot make them pay. Would it not make more sense to concentrate on the profitable core business?
