Status of Talks; xMax Rural Market Pilot Update

xG Technology, Inc. (LSE-AIM: XGT, the "Company"), which has developed an innovative, low-cost, mobile VoIP and data communications system, is pleased to announce that interest in deploying xMax both in the United States and internationally has been received from a number of parties to whom the Company is now talking alongside Townes Tele-Communications, Inc.

As announced previously, the xMax rural market pilot has now been expanded. Two base stations are operating in neighbouring towns at the trial site and hand-off is being successfully completed in a vehicle moving at highway speeds. Off a 100 foot high tower, a range of 2.5 miles is being achieved, operating with a power limit of one watt in unlicensed spectrum.

Journalists and analysts are invited to visit the xG Pilot so that they can experience xMax in a rural deployment for themselves.
