	Topped up again today on the Tesco News and some director buying. I wont worry about the demerger at this stage. However I think the sp will rise into it, once we have some more figures on the 2 companies I will have a better idea to hold or fold. Bf. 	Has FinCap reviewed the business model of CWW? and carried out the comparisons with BT and KCOM? This market is growing, and customers once contracted and happy are unlikely to switch easily. 	the FT hints that the SP is undervalued which is why pluthero wnated an extention of options. 	Views on Demerger (from ADVFN): "The proposed demerger announced Tuesday morning by Cable & Wireless (C&W) is unlikely to unlock value from the telecoms company, according to broker finnCap. The broker thinks that C&W International (C&WI), the legacy of C&W's old colonial telephone business in Panama, the Caribbean, Macau and Monaco & Islands, will remain a viable investment for income investors, as the businesses are expected to continue to pump out cash. In contrast, the UK focused Worldwide business (C&WW) is expected to face a tough challenge from a reinvigorated BT Global division ‘and even a new player (KCOM, reselling BT’s products and aiming further up towards C&WW’s target customer base),’ the broker reckons. ‘If you want the 9.5p dividend (6.9%, top end but within consensus) then take it, but be aware of significant risk to the capital,’ finnCap warns. The broker’s recommendation for income investors to bank the dividend and the two shares offered, but to ditch the C&WW share at the earliest possible opportunity. 	If you google 'record date' it suggests that divs are paid to all those shareholders who hold stock on the 'record date' confirmed by various websites. Check out fool.co.uk for example. However, i'm no expert so happy to be corrected if i'm wrong. News today seems good, with potential good end of year dividend next year. 	Nowt in the announcement that I can see about the reasons, the dividend policy , the costs. These are the three key issues in any demerger, all ignored. This is just a fee fest for the bloodsuckers. 	Maginvest, Thats not right you just need to be a holder on the ex-Div date only. That is why the sp drops normally by the div ammount on the start of that day. The record date is not used or considered. If he is going to sell you would be better to sell tomorrow its likely that the sp will drop more then the div anyways. I bought more the other day and intend to hold through the div. If we see a sell off post div then I will have another top up. This is a nice safe undervalued share. IMHO.
