In light of the announcement on Friday 5th February that Jo Dawson is to leave Lloyds Banking Group, SJP announces that Jo has resigned from the Board of SJP plc as a non-executive director with effect from 5 February 2010.

LONDON, Jan 21 (Reuters) - British wealth manager St James's Place Plc far exceeded market expectations with new business figures for the fourth quarter, as its affluent clients piled into its unit trusts and other products.
The company said its most closely followed measure of new business, a combination of regular and single premiums, was up 38 percent from a year earlier at 133.2 million pounds ($217.4 million).
The rate of growth was more than double analyst consensus which had foreseen an increase of up to 15 percent.
The surge was helped by a sales of unit trusts (open-ended products similar to U.S. mutual funds), which more than doubled since last year to 282.7 million pounds during the quarter.
St James's Place shares were up 12.7 pence or 4.6 percent at 288.7p by 0954 GMT, having risen as high as 296.2p -- their highest since mid October.
Analysts at Shore Capital noted a 43 percent increase in sales of own-manufactured products (as opposed to sales of other companies' offerings), accounting for 92 percent of the total, was positive for margins.

Funds under management stood at 21.4 billion pounds at the end of 2009, meeting a forecast by analysts at brokerage Numis Securities.
Steadying markets meant growth in assets slowed to 1.1 billion pounds since the third quarter, when funds under management increased by 3.4 billion pounds to 20.3 billion pounds.
Net inflow of funds under management, however, was at 700 million pounds, against 600 million in the previous quarter.
Chief Executive David Bellamy told Reuters the company aims to broaden its range of funds offering a greater variety of asset classes and is likely to announce new fund manager hires by the end of the third quarter.
"We are looking to align our fund choices with the life cycle of the clients, so as they move in to wanting to be more attentive to capital preservation rather than growth we need to make sure we've got the right structures," he said.

Bellamy also said the company is "quietly optimistic" regarding the outlook for 2010, noting UK wealth managers face challenges from tightening regulation, stiffer taxes and uncertainty around the general election. Tighter rules around financial intermediaries, however, have helped St James's Place increase recruitment of advisers seeking to join larger, established institutions with "partner" numbers up 9 percent over the year.
