MADRID (AFX) - Telefonica Publicidad e Informacion SA plans to launch an internet search engine called Noxtrum to compete with services such as Google Inc, El Pais reported, without naming its source.

TPI will use its own technology to launch the service in Spanish and Portuguese, El Pais said, noting the advantage of already having its own online yellow pages services, and will sign syndicator packages for other languages.
