Re: rich list

I wish - I wouldn't be messing around blogging with the likes of u if I was .just trying to share a tiny bit of his success. It's the best gift he could give -only people I've come across that know him tend to be ex suppliers who all have a big chip.
My advice is just buy the shares when they're a bit depressed and watch them grow their profits , it works - been in from £1.35. It's q simple - when they get to 200 shops profits should be 75% more than now at least - that should translate into a share price of a lot more than now and more importantly a much higher divi. It's also good news that he's relic ng his holding as it increases liquidity and therefore more interest from institutions.
Just waiting for Argos to announce big store closures which should straight into dunelms hands. By valuemanbuyer

I see a time when their holding will be worth a billion and I don't think it's that far off - maybe 3 years
.why ?
When like for likes start to grow (as the economy recovers) and the store growth accelerates the multiple will grow also.
RESULT: Dunelm has struggled off the economic gloom to deliver another strong half-year performance - pretty good for a homewares retailer

Opportunity knocks

Heading into value territory again.
Topped up at 425p -about 12x forecast earnings and will continue to build up at anything near 400p simply because the value you get is a company growing at 10-15% per annum with increasing dividends of over 15% per annum over last 4 years ,excess capital paid back to shareholders and a potential re-rating when retail regains interest. In better times that could be 18-20x -600-660 p
As one well known retailer once told me - great retail companies prosper during recessions as well as booms . The on-going shakeout of poor quality retailers will continue and leave greater sales for those remaining. I suspect that if Britain continues to be squeezed then companies like home retail will be sorely tested .they have £200m of cash but couldcstart burning through that very quickly come feb- music to the likes of Dunelm.
Use the Market nerves to build your future wealth.
Any views - it's awfully quiet out here ? By valuemanbuyer

Re: Well that's worked out well then

Make sure your comparing apples with apples .
Some products sold by supermarkets are of a worse spec than at Dunelm.
Having said that your right to be concerned if they are uncompetitive.
I fear this isn't new.look at the gross margins - higher than ever . It's not just supplier bashing but also higher prices.
They will be very aware of pricing and will no doubt remain vigilant to loosing sales.
I think they're looking tippy at these levels but if they're expanding the rate of openings then growth should increase - By valuemanbuyer
