5 April 2012 | 16:00pm Iodine extraction specialist Iofina (LON:IOF) has acquired its first mid-stream production site for under $15,000 and moved into the iodine recycling business. Iofina believes the acquisition of a new dual-production brine stream process site at its core Southwest operations area will result in capital cost savings. The site purchase includes approximately one acre of land, access roads, and easements for brine lines, electric and other utilities. The site is located between two brine water disposal facilities of two large oil and gas companies that are listed on the New York Stock Exchange, having a combined market cap of over $60bn. President and chief executive Lance Baller said: "The board is pleased with the purchase of our first company owned mid-stream production site. "By having a central group owned site it allows us to use this dual brine model at other locations while reducing both OPEX and CAPEX costs compared to an individual site. "Iofina's goal is to have a backlog of sites that are ready to accept large WET IOsorb plants once they are completed by our fabricators. The entry into iodine recycling allows us to do our part in improving the environment and importantly completes the full circle of iodine production, iodine chemical derivatives and iodine recycling for complete vertical integration into the iodine market. Group had cash of £3.4m at 31/12/10 after a cash outflow from operating activities of £2.5m plus £0.5m capex. I expect cash to be quite a bit lower at 31/12/1 and with plans to expand the chemical plant I would not be surprised to see a further share issue some time this year - possibly with results, the timing of which is disappointingly vague.

All in all little to justify the three -fold increase in share price since the autumn low. I have sold my remaining shares and will monitor with the thought of getting back in later in the year. I think I'm going sell half and bank some. Have a positive feeling about this share but have seen good profits slip away Sooooooooo many times before.

Based on fundamentals (see http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail/?display=discussion&code=cotn%3AIOF.L&it=le&action=detail&id=8358002 ) my analysis has this as current fair value at 50p, I haven't seen anything to change that. I look forward to the next company announcement though. Will be interesting - sp will shift a chunk one way or the other on it. I have no desire at all to read the postings and ramblings of someone on advfn...

I get my info direct from the horses mouth and having had and still maintaining a direct line of comminucation with certain Bod members of IOF will continue to do so.

I dont lower myself to your level and "slag" IOF off...

I am and have always been a strong supporter of IOF and made my position clear..

I now have no position..

The meteoric rise has confounded me, and whilst I hate to suggest it I do believe the rise is in part because there is a co-ordinated Pump and Dump, Ramptastic effort going on...

And forgive us our trespasses, but I have every right to say so...

So, why dont you actually do me a favour, and stick to on topic posts such as IOF and leave me out of it..

Do the research before you knock it. Look at a poster called superg1 on ADVFN who has done a vast amount of research.

This a company that is really going places, and it does you no favours to slag it off from a position of no knowledge.
