Re: Serious Buying !

By no mayo: Golfboat

Given that the current spread is $5.0-$6.0, if what you say is correct, it seems strange that all the transactions for the last week have been close to the offer, between $5.0 and $5.25. To me, those trades look like the market-makers taking in shares from a seller.

If there was a buyer in the market, wouldn't the market-makers then be looking to make money on the spread, and sell them on at closer to the $6 mark?

The last trade above the midprice was 1000 shares @ 5.75 on the 25th July, and before that 150 shares on the 17th July.

I guess one possibility is that one of the MM's is buying shares for their own book. Another possibility I guess is that the "real" spread could be just 5.0-5.25, but I can't see why they'd list the offer @ 6.0 if that was the case - it's pretty rare to be selling that far down in the spread - MMs aren't known to leave money on the table.

On the other hand, the 5.0 bid price has been static for weeks.

Any thoughts?

Serious Buying !

By golfboat: We remain very positive on xG.

There is a serious buyer for every share that is being sold. This speaks volumes for the upside of this company.

There is no other explanation, however we will look for the anti-xG ers to try to spin a negative on this.

But, The truth is in the pudding and no matter what the fact remains that there is a very serious buyer wanting to gobble up all they can.

Happy Days for everyone long !

Cheers !

Re: xG still trying to find replacement for ...

By Asymptote: Another aggravating factor might also be a front-end redesign of both base stations and handsets if the scheme outlined in their latest patent application is going to be incorporated.

That filing also suggests that their much-boasted original modulation method is not capable of delivering the data rates they were(are?) promising. If that is not true, then why are they adding a second modulation to their signal? It could just be another flight of Bobier's fancy, not intended for immediate use. But, given their project slippage, why are they playing with this, if not to overcome a pressing problem?

How would xG even think that they could meet their September deadline for a production ready basestation when they don't even have a suitable replacement for their lead RF engineer?
